Suomela

Suomela is an illustrated book that brings Finnish mythology to life through a mix of storytelling, research, and art, created to inspire both adults and children. It combines semi-custom typography and hand-painted watercolour and graphite illustrations (240 × 320 mm on 300 g/m² paper) with carefully designed layouts in Adobe CC.

Finished product & materials: printed on Fabriano Rusticus (Neve); hardcover 2 mm board wrapped in 150 g/m² printed paper with gold foil and 3D UV elements, Rusticus 140 g/m² endpapers in light blue; book size 135 × 190 × 7 mm (text block 130 × 185 mm; spreads 160 × 185 mm).
